Directions to Bar Harbor, Maine

*All directions are from the Maine / New Hampshire border in Kittery

Option 1: Approx. time & miles:  4 hours, 30 minutes – 245 miles.

Enter Maine via I-95 N/ME Turnpike and continue approximately 180 miles to Exit 182A in Bangor.  Take Exit 182A and this will put you on I-395 east. Continue on I-395 E to the end (approx. 5 miles) and take Exit 6A.  Exit 6A puts you on US Rt. 1A east.  Continue on US Rt. 1A 23 miles to Ellsworth, ME where it will merge with US Rt. 1 and ME State Rt.3.  Continue straight, following Rt. 3 for 15 miles to Bar Harbor and the High Seas Motel.

Option 2: Approx. time & miles:  4 hours, 30 minutes – 215 miles.

Enter Maine via I-95 N/ME Turnpike and continue approximately 111 miles to Exit 113 in Augusta. In Augusta, take Exit 113 onto Rt. 3 East towards Belfast.  In Belfast, Rt. 3 & Rt. 1 merge and lead to Ellsworth. In Ellsworth, continue on Rt. 3 to Bar Harbor.

Option 3: Approx. time and miles:  5 hours, 30 minutes – 215 miles.

Follow Rt. 1 north to Ellsworth, then to Rt. 3 to Bar Harbor.

Option 4: Approx. time and miles:  5 hours, (allow extra time in summer).

Enter Maine via I-95 N/ME Turnpike and continue approximately 44 miles to Exit 44 in Scarborough.  Take Exit 44 onto I-295 N towards Portland.  OR take Exit 52 to I-295 N (via I-95/I-295 connector/Falmouth Spur).  Take Exit 28 to Rt.1 north to Ellsworth, then to Rt. 3 to Bar Harbor.

Once you get to Mt. Desert Island/ Bar Harbor, you will cross a bridge.  Ahead, you will come to a fork in the road; there is a gas station there as well.  Bear left at the fork and proceed approx. 7 miles.  The High Seas will be on your left!
